The Ant and the 10 Virgins

Proverbs 6:6-11; "Go to the ant, you lazy one! See her ways and be wise,
Which, having no commander, overseer or ruler,
Provides her supplies in the summer, gathers her food in the harvest.
How long would you lay down o lazy one?
When do you arise from your sleep?
A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to lie down;
And your poverty shall come like a prowler..."

We have read this text so many times!!! We all know the teaching on the homiletic level - that we need to work hard, like the ant, and store up goods for times of hardship! And this lesson is very true!!! But there lies a much deeper teaching!
But on the next level, the esoteric level (the secretive/hidden level), we have to dig deeper!

If we continue reading in
Proverbs 6:20-22;"My son, watch over your father's command, and do not forsake the Torah of your mother.
Bind them on your heart always, Tie them around your neck.
When you are walking about, it leads you;
When you lie down, it guards you.
And when you have woken up, It talks to you."

This food we need to store up, is the wisdom and knowledge we receive through our spiritual life! We need to store it for the days to come. Yes, we do use some of it now, when it is going a little tough, we turn to the Word. But there is a time coming....when all supply will be cut of! That time that is coming is the great tribulation!!!

Proverbs 6:23; "For the command is a lamp, And the Torah a light,
and reproof of discipline a way of life,"

Read Math 25- The parable of the 10 virgins.
First notice this parable is about virgins! In Scriptural language a virgin is a person standing in a relationship with YHWH and who has been washed clean of sin!!!
Secondly there are 10 virgins - the number 10 stands for confidence in YHWH.

These 10 were women who had a real steady relationship with the Father and the Messiah!
They are divided into two groups; those who have enough oil in their lamps and those who do not have enough oil and cease to give light!
Five of them where wise and five of them foolish - Five of them were like the wise ants in Proverbs!!! Who stored up enough oil for the time to come.
The five foolish ones were sleeping!!! the same thing addressed in Proverbs 6!!!

At midnight the bridegroom arrived and they went out to meet him!! They entered the wedding reception with Him and the doors were shut!

The other 5 called! But they are told "I know you not!"

We have already learned from proverbs that the light we are carrying is the Torah! We all receive the Word, but you need to live it!! You need oil to keep your light burning and the oil is the Ruach ha Kodesh of YHWH!

Note in Mat 25 and Mark 13 He warns us that we must watch for we do not know when the Master of the house return, be it evening, midnight or in the morning!! But we will know the season. Lets look at:

1 Thes 5
If you read the verses in context, you see that he is telling them, that the day of YHWH comes over the non-believers like a thief in the night! (and Proverbs 6:11)
In verse 4 it says: "But ye brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief".....

We DO NOT know the day or hour, but we will know the season!! (verse one). How do we learn the seasons? By keeping the feasts and looking at the prophesies!!! We need to be awake! Waiting, praying and buying the time out!!! Remember, We are all virgins, but some of us will not enter into the wedding because of a lack of oil and disobedience!

Matt 7: 21-23; "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Master, Master' shall enter into the reign of the Heavens, but he who is doing the desire of My Father in the heavens.
Many shall say to Me in that day, 'Master, Master, have we not prophesied in Your Name, and cast out demons in your Name? And done many mighty works in your Name?'
And then I shall declare to them, 'I never knew you, depart from Me, you who work lawlessness!'"

Be sure to have a lamp and to fill it with oil!!!! Do not serve in lawlessness! But seek wisdom and truth!
And also very important to notice in Proverbs 6 is the fact that the ant has no overseer or commander! We all have spiritual leaders and teacher! But your preacher or pastor is not the one who is going to work out your salvation!!! When judgment comes, you alone are going to answer to YHWH!!! So test everything you are taught to the Scriptures!!! Keeping your lamp full of oil, is only YOUR responsibility!!!

Jude 1:2 ; "Compassion, and peace, and love be increased to you!"
