Parasha/Parashot

Parashot – Weekly teaching/Torah portions. The Torah is divided into parts – because there are 52 weeks in a year. So every week you have a Torah portion to read. It consists of a piece of Torah, with a correlating piece of Haftarah and also sections out of the Brit Hadashah. They all convey the same message each week. Some break the Parashot down into 7 daily pieces, which is called the Sedrah’s.
