Troubling times

When it is going well, we easily forget about Elohim!!! We all have done it and felt guilty...and when the hard times come, or something terrible happens, we are so quick to ask, "Where is He when we need Him?" or "How could this have happened?"

Does this sound familiar?
I have been reading Proverbs lately, and I want to share with you what I have learned.
Proverbs has always been one of my favourite books!!! And the one thing I always longed for was wisdom. Proverbs one teaches us that the Fear of YHWH is the beginning of wisdom! And I fear Him, like a little child fears the reproof of a righteous father. It is a good fear. And you know if there is reproof, it is true and good! Because He is righteous!!

It continues in Proverbs 1:23-24; "Turn at My reproof. See I pour out My Spirit on you (renewed covenant), I make My Words known to you. Because I called and you refused, I have stretched out My hand and no one inclined,..."

In our new walk of faith, with the Ruach (Spirit) guiding us, He makes His Word/Instructions clear to us. These verses are not speaking to people who have not been saved yet! It is speaking to disobedient children.

Proverbs 1:25-27; "And you spurned all My counsel, and would not yield to My reproof, Let Me also laugh at your calamity, Mock when your dread comes, When your dread comes like a storm, and your calamity comes like a whirlwind, when distress and anguish come upon you..."

These are terrible words to hear when He is not on your side! It is as with a child! The first reproof is a tender word , the second harder and if the child is still disobedient, the parent will go to the next step, be it a spanking or time-out.

Proverbs 1:28-30; "Let them call on Me, but I answer not; Let them seek Me, but not find Me. Because they hated knowledge and did not choose the fear of YHWH. They did not accept My counsel, They despised all My reproof,..."

It is so important to keep your relationship with YHWH going!!! In times of difficulty, we need Him!! Heed to the advise of your Father, He does know best. That is what the Torah and the rest of the Scriptures are for! To teach us His perfect will!!!

Proverbs 1:31; "Therefor let them eat the fruit of their own way, And be filled with their own counsel"

We are not so much punished for our sin, but you have to deal with the consequences of your own decisions!!! Again this illustrates - this does not mean you lose your salvation! Because remember grace=salvation and obedience=blessings - or not having to deal with eating the fruit of your own way!

Proverbs 1:33; "But whoever listens to Me dwells safely, And is at ease from the dread of evil."

Amen!!! He is our only refuge, our ROCK!! Put all your trust in Him. I believe that faith is to know He has a plan, even if something bad happens. We can not see the future, but He can.

Shalom
